Wedding Dress Wednesday- The Style Guide Edition

A guide to finding the best gowns to flatter you and your wedding party from Haute & Styled

A-line

Aline gowns extend outward from the waistline and form the shape of an A. These gowns are great because the flatter every figure and have a classic silhouette.

Empire

The empire waist gown has a high waist line which sits right underneath the bust allowing the rest of the dress to flow freely. This style is very flattering for women with smaller busts and is a go to style for pregnant women walking down the aisle. This style is also great for pear shaped women.

Mermaid/Trumpet

Trumpet gowns have become quite popular over the last few years and it is easy to see why. Its super sexy and highlights ALL of the woman’s curves. The silhouette contours to your body and hugs your shape from the chest down to the mid-thigh and then dramatically flares out. This styles works best for someone fierce and confident! Its most flattering on a woman with curves as it draws the eye to the hips.

Bubble

Bubble gowns are gowns that have alot of fabric gathered or bunched together around the hemline. Most of them are knee-length, however a tea length or floor length bubble gown can look quite fabulous as well. This gown is flattering on a woman with a larger waistline, hips, and thighs, as the poufy fabric will disguise and tuck anything needing it.
